Sound Design
For this project, I got to design sounds for a dark fantasy game: The Blacksmith.
I practiced both linear and nonlinear sound design by working on a cinematic and gameplay portion from the game. I recorded all of the foley and edited all of the sound effects. I mixed the cinematic using Pro Tools, and I performed some basic implementation and nonlinear mixing in Wwise for the gameplay portion.
This demo reel showcases sounds I designed for a game menu, character movement, elemental spells, and a space jumpgate. I specifically designed three sets of sound for the menu, utilizing different techniques. For a fun challenge, I used the sound of a wood chipper somewhere in here. Can you find it?
Here is an early demo of mine that involves power-ups, interactables, space ambience, a black hole, and three different kinds of energy blaster sounds. The space ambience and black hole are designed as seamless loops so that the beginning and end of the sounds are indistinguishable. All sounds were designed and recorded by me with the exception of those used for the power-up.
